In 2011 I left the United States and moved to London. This was for a few reasons. I was burnt out on the industry as my fallout with Naughty America left a bitter taste in my mouth. My continuous nonsense with my ex-girlfriend was mentally draining on my psyche and I wanted to just get away from her. And I always wanted to live in Europe.
So I put all of my possessions in storage, moved out of my condo, and took nothing but a backpack and two giant suitcases with me to London.
I split time between South Kensington, a posh part of London, and Sawtry, a tiny village just north of Peterborough. It was a glorious time and very refreshing mentally. I was doing 5-6 scenes a month with hot British girls like Paige Turnah, Rebecca More, and Louise Jensen, I was doing my affiliate marketing on social media, I was booking private jobs for UK porn stars, and I was bringing US porn stars over to do private jobs.
I spent lots of time on a farm with horses, with Kirstyn & Kelly, two of my best friends in the world. I learned how to box (and actually won 2 amateur heavyweight bouts...2-0 baby!), and I traveled throughout Europe, going to Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome, Malaga, and Berlin.
After about a year, I had to return to Los Angeles or marry a British girl, and unfortunately I couldn't find anyone haha.
I moved into a house with a production manager and a makeup artist for 2-3 months until my old condo was available again. While I was there in the house, I tried to immerse myself back into the industry.
From 2004-2011 I performed 20-30 scenes a month every month. But when I returned in 2012, the landscape of the industry had radically changed. Three different male crossover performers had tested positive for HIV. I was also a crossover performer, as I was performing with TS girls and regular porn girls at the time. Throughout my career, many different girls had refused to work with me because I worked with TS girls on camera. But now it was different. The agents and directors who would always have my back, change the girl out of my scene, or ask me which girls would work with me...they now refused to help. Additionally, I had worked for Naughty America 3-5 times per month since 2004, and after my fallout with them, those days were long gone. And last, there was a paradigm shift in the scenes that were being shot. The emphasis was now on young, handsome male performers.
All of these factors combined and were staring me in the face as I struggled to cobble together 20 scenes in a month, then 16, then 14, then 18...
I knew this was the beginning of the end to my time as an every day male performer in the straight porn world. But I was obsessed with not ending up like all the other 40 something male performers who lived on 10 scenes a month and scratched and clawed just to make ends meet. I didn't save the bulk of my earnings over the years just to fritter it away as my scenes tumbled to single digits.
So I looked for alternate revenue streams. I was already posting affiliate links for girls solo sites and for the big internet companies on multiple social media platforms. I was making a couple grand monthly doing this, but it was paid in 20 different small checks, and was very inefficient. I had to deluge the internet with links just to drum up a few sales. But it got me thinking about things.
All of these girls have their own websites, I am not doing 2 scenes a day every day anymore, I should start shooting content trade with these girls and start my own website!
It was quite the Eureka! moment and I couldn't sleep as I planned out my first bunch of content trade scene partners.
Now I needed a webmaster. Puba was out - those homophobic jerkoffs could go to hell. Pornstar Platinum was a maybe, but they didn't have a shooter close to me. Premiumcash only had girls. Brand Danger only had girls. So I was stuck. I needed an independent webmaster.
I had known Bill Fox for years as he was always tangentially around my little sphere of influence. He had his own little studio. He shot stills and video himself (granted it was while sitting in his hoveround but still). And he was an honest, jovial guy whose door was always open.
So we sat down and struck a deal with the usual 60/40 split as a webmaster. Then we got to work. Bill quickly learned that I was ready to shoot 1-2 content trade scenes every day I wasn't booked. I shot with Sophie Dee, Vaniity, Lisa Ann, Venus Lux, Raylene, Richelle Ryan, Kayla Kleevage, Samantha 38g, Sara Jay, Karen Fisher, anyone and everyone who needed content.
Seeing as how I was shooting with BBW girls, TS girls, and regular porn girls, for some reason I decided to call my site www.christiandoesthemall.com haha - I thought it was clever at the time, now I realize that it was incredibly stupid.
The first month I paid Bill Fox a flat fee to design my site. I spent some money on shooting, talent, and location. And I made a grand total of 12 joins for the month. The next month I made 21 joins, then 26, 27, 24, and my high water mark 38 joins in my 6th month of having the site. Ah I thought I was doing so well back then. Yikes.
Then I discovered www.clips4sale.com and that I could use the content on my site and sell individual scenes. The next month I discovered that I could take 4 of my scenes, put them together, mock up a boxcover and sell them on VOD sites as "DVD's". Then I realized that there were 5 different VOD sites available.
Then I discovered that you could take those VOD movies and a content broker would sell them to other countries for a fee. I got a check for 750 bucks, then 1000 5 months later, etc. etc.
So my little site was making a tiny amount of joins and I was working hard in all the over avenues to make extra money.
After a year, my aggressive approach and constantly asking Bill to do things for me and my site wore on him. He was used to a much more passive client and I was not that. We were together for exactly 12 months when we made the amicable decision to sever our business relationship. At that time I was almost making 2000 dollars a month profit from my website and was ecstatic about it.
It was around that time that I met my girlfriend and love of my life Lexi Sindel, who just so happened to be a content producer, webmaster and owner/operator of www.femdomempire.com
I am a very stubborn man, and stupidly I decided to transfer my site to Pornstar Platinum and rename it www.kinkyexploits.com - still putting all three genres, BBW, XXX, and TS on one platform.
This decision was a colossal mistake. I was with Pornstar Platinum for 7 months and made 3, 11, 12, 9, 14, 11, and 13 joins in those months. I had a falling out with the owner of the company over him fucking my ex-girlfriend and so I left them, again with all my content.
Lexi convinced me that it was time to do it on my own, but enough with the catch all site. Split them up and concentrate on the TS girls.
And thus www.pure-ts.com was born. It was wildly more successful in the first month than even I imagined and has continued to go up from there.
www.pure-bbw.com and www.pure-xxx.com launched months later and although they don't do nearly as well as www.pure-ts.com , they still turn a profit.
Today in 2016, I am a pretty well oiled machine. I have learned so much about content ownership and made many mistakes, but the point is that I owe much of my knowledge to my girlfriend Lexi Sindel, my best friend Mike S, and to Bill Fox.
Recently Bill has had some medical problems and this makes me sad. He is one of the nicest guys in the biz, he has helped so many girls and guys, he has opened up his home to other performers, and he has worked diligently to cobble together a living in this business.
Tonight some of his friends started a GoFund me for him. I became aware of it tonight and so of course I was going to help him out as much as I can.
Loyalty isn't an option my friends. I ALWAYS take care of the people who take care of me.
