I spent most of the day settling into my surroundings. I organized my room with all my clothes, put my toiletries away, and started to work on my desk in her office.
I have my own desk, but working on my laptop is admittedly a challenge. One, I have fat fingers, and it sucks typing on this thing. Two, I like my 3 gigantic monitor set-up. I really thought long and hard about shipping my desktop system over here. But I couldn't chance it getting damaged, it cost me like 5000 to build.
But I do have my camera, and my 2 mini video cameras to work with while I am out here. I also have my US mobile phone, but I am trying not to use it. My cell phone costs are already too high (250 a month standard). Which brings me to my monthly bills over in the US.
Phone - 300
Health Insurance - 225
Car Insurance - 125
Student Loan - 1100 (don't ask)
401K contribution - 425
Storage Unit - 350
Various Minor Monthly Bills (warcraft, sirius, etc) - 75
TOTAL - 2600
So in order to stay solvent on the US side I need to earn 2600 in affiliate sales plus web camming. Well I hedged my bets. I have 2 checks for 500 each coming to my mailbox PLUS my 1800 security deposit as well. So I should be able to make it until January without dipping into either my savings or my business account.
Over here, I don't really have any bills, so I just need to earn spending money, going out money, and traveling money. I brought about 2000 pounds in cash that I had with me in the US to get me started, so I should be fine over here for awhile. But I do plan on visiting Germany, Italy, Sweden, France, Russia, Spain, and Denmark while I am over here, so that is going to cost some pounds.
The moment I have to dip into my savings account to cover my checking account I will be on the next flight home. That is what I told myself. Let's see if I can stick to it.
Kirstyn owns 2 large Range Rovers and I get to use one of them while I am over there! How sweet is that! Next item on the agenda is practicing my driving skills. I have a tendency to overcompensate and try to avoid the middle of the road, which puts me in the grass sometimes. Not good times.
I drove into the town center and grabbed some necessary supplies. Then it was off to the leisure centre (what they call gyms here) for a long workout. It's a small gym but has nice equipment.
About 3 months ago, I decided to learn the science of boxing. I hired a personal boxing coach, an Olympic Bronze Medalist with 43 pro fights. I have trained with him 5-6 times a week since June 1st. Holy shit, it is fun. I am completely hooked. I have fantastic cardio, I am left handed, I am very strong, and I am very tall with long arms. This is a great combination to have as a boxer. I have sparred a few times in August, and I have to say I am pretty decent. I throw about 1000 right jabs each round and it keeps most people moving backward. Then I can load up on my left and throw it with some power. My biggest weakness is defending the left hook to the body and the overhand left to my head.
I found a boxing trainer down the road from where I was staying in an industrial park of all places. Trust me, I was as shocked as anyone! So now I can box every day like I am used to. He also was kind enough to tell me about a major boxing gym about 15 minutes away as well. Stay tuned because the hits are coming to be coming!
I am currently not lifting right now, because I was too muscular and that means I had trouble using my arms after 3 rounds. The less muscle in my shoulders the better. So its cardio cardio cardio for the time being. I was 274 pounds when I started boxing in June, and yesterday I weighed 257. Fantastic!
