Friday and Saturday were just blurs, I simply worked on getting over my jetlag and into a routine. Sarah Jessie is over in London at the moment, so I invited her to dinner on Saturday night with some of my English buddies. She is so sexy!
After dinner, she had some to be, and so all the guys headed out to One-For-One, a popular nightclub. It was a blast....I love the London nightlife.
So Sunday morning we all woke up and headed to the Euston Train Station. Virgin recently began operating a fleet of trains, and they are all based in Euston. We were headed to Wolverhampton to watch Fulham vs Wolves at 2pm. One of my buddies is good friends with Bobby Zamora, and he got us 4 tickets to the match!
How about this train station charging people 30 pence to use the bathroom. What is THAT all about? LAME!
It's a 2:30 train ride to get from London to Wolverhampton. My buddy Andrew refused to sit in the "ghetto" as he called it, and so for extra 10 quid each, we were in First Class baby!
Finally we reached Wolverhampton and left the bus to walk to the grounds.
What is really cool about Wolverhampton is that you walk through the historic downtown area of the city. Check out all the cool buildings, churches, and statues.
Note to away supporters wearing team kits/shirts - don't try to enter this establishment for a beer
Finally we reached our destination - Molineux Stadium - home of the Wolverhampton Wolves.
Our buddy came through with the tickets too!
This was the home opener for Wolves, so the orange gear was out in FORCE! It is a cool stadium with all the colors and designs around the Wolves logo.
There were 2 very strange things about this stadium. First of all, there was an entire 4th section of seats that were not completed, so it was empty but had work stuff littering it. How strange is that? Can you imagine an NFL football team upgrading its facilities and NOT finishing them before Week 1? No fucking way.
It was very hard not to focus on that. Also, neither of the scoreboards worked, so there was no way to tell how much time had passed and who was winning. It was really bush league to be honest.
We were fixated on those 2 things.....well until we spotted these 2 "winners" located near us. LOL
By the way, it was not sunny out at all. That dude just strips off the neon vest and he is ready for the club!
Wolves were the much better side for the entire 90 minutes. They won easily 2-0. It was strange sitting in the visitor's stands because so much of the vitriol, shouting, pointing, and cursing is aimed right at you.
Where the home and visitor stands merge is an empty row of seats and the home fans don't even watch much of the match, they just turn to their left and jeer the away supporters with dirty and humorous chants.
I wanted to ask these guys if they realized they finished 17th out of 20 last season? But then I guess that's what makes victory so sweet.
Oh and one more thing of note, the Wolves supporter clearly HATED Danny Murphy, but I could not figure out why. They were screaming and shouting obscenities at him the entire match, and booing whenever he touched the ball. I must have missed something.
After the match, I headed back to the farm and slept like a baby. Well minus the 40 pounds I lost on having Fulham to win bet of course.
