Well the month of August has come to a close and it has been very successful for me. 25 scenes and 13,000 dollars this month makes me a happy camper. Fiscal responsibility month has been a success and my coffers are much fuller than they were in July. :)
I have now passed both the 200 scene and 100,000 dollar barrier for the year. Those kind of numbers put a smile on my face and make me realize that even with all of the horseshit and daily stresses I have, the end result is still pretty damn rewarding. More on that later.
I spent today finishing up my preparations for my journey to Japan tomorrow. I bought all of the items that he wanted, then stopped into the bookstore and purchased about 5 books for my journey. Went back home and finished packing my gigantic suitcase for the trip.
Called my brother in Japan to get final instructions on how to meet up with him. I am a bit nervous about going to a country with a really strange language and culture, but I love an adventure, so I think it will be quite fun figuring out how to get from Tokyo to Kyoto.
I had designs on grabbing a workout today, but couldn't fit it into my plans. Those plans included playing warcraft all day because I will not be able to play it for the next 10 days!
A bunch of people sent me texts or phone calls wishing me well and for me to have a great vacation. Mark Wood called and we chatted again, 2 days in a row of him answering my call is insane! Later that night, my old friend Nicole called.
Nicole was the manager of the nightclub I used to work at back in Dallas, the Red Jacket. She had always wanted to move away from Texas and when she visited Los Angeles a couple years ago, she was hooked! Now she lives in Santa Monica and runs a small bar down there. She is dating a comedian who is really funny and a nice guy, Shawn Halpin. I love catching up with her because we get along so well. It's nice to talk to civilians from my previous life before the business. I really need to go see one of his sets in September.
Nothing else really to report, just leaving for the airport early in the morning so no blog update for a day or two. Sorry!
