Getting Back Into the LA Swing

So while Keiran Lee and I were laughing our asses off this morning listening to the hilarious Marco Banderas music video (LINK again for posterity and more laughs), he said he is going to make a music video like this one - LINK - and now I can't stop replaying it!  What a catchy tune!  And the Texas reference's just make the song.

Since I wasn't working today (thanks one more time Brandi Edwards), I decided to make the most of it and hang out with my friends all day.  But first I had to check my mail for the first time in 15 days at my mailbox.  Nothing like picking up four scene checks and four affiliate checks!  Nothing like deposting dinero in my bank account to put me in a good mood. 

Then it was out to Calabasas for a short 15 minute casting interview at Matrix Content's offices with two Hungarian dudes.  They explained as best they could about what they are going to be shooting.  Then they finished up their presentation, and the secretary gave me 50 bucks for my trouble!  Now that's a casting I can get behind.

Then I drove back into Studio City, picked up Jonni Darkko, and we headed out for a nice lunch.  We went to Mistral, an upscale Italian restaurant in Sherman Oaks.

Man it was good catching up with Darkko.  He is a lot like him, with a caustic wit, and a similar disdain for stupid people.  We had a bunch of laughs, and he asked me about some girls that he needs to shoot (namely Phoenix Marie, Madelyn Marie, and Sarah Vandella).  We talked about traveling to Japan, and how hot Japanese girls are.

It was a great lunch and the food was great as well.  Jonni had a tuna salad, and I had the angel hair pasta.

Of we had to have dessert.....I had the apple tart a la mode and he had the peach-strawberry cobbler.  Both were delicious.

 

After lunch, Jonni had to run over to a set Nate Hall was on to pick up a tape that Nate had for him.  So we drove over to his set, found Nate, and got the tape.  As I went inside to find Nate, there were a bunch of girls getting their makeup done.  Kylee Reese (sexy as always), Jenny Hendrix (who looked hot as fuck), and a girl that I had never met before, but couldn't stop staring at....Jayme Langford.  Holy shit, she is stunningly beautiful......and of course doesn't do boys (although my man Jimmy Lifestyles told me that he has shot her in a boy girl scene with her using a different stage name a long time ago, but the scene was really bad).  I am smitten with her already......Jayme Langford, prepare to be stalked! Her MYSPACE already got my friend request.  lol

Nate Hall works for Metro, under the direction of Mike Adams.  I used to work for Metro whenever they shot something, which hasn't been since the beginning of the year or maybe longer.  So since Jayme was there, I assumed this was a girl girl movie, especially since I had been asking Nate when Mike was shooting again continuously for the past months.  Then who walks into the room but Tommy Gunn!  Man, that was crushing.  No call, no love.  I thought I did good work for Mike, actually I know I did good work for Mike.  I just don't get it.

I dropped Jonni off at his place and we promised to do this again soon.  Derick Pierce had just called me and wanted to grab a workout.  It has been months since we have done that, and we needed to catch up after my trip to Europe anyway.

We met at Derick's gym, the Gold's Gym on Laurel Canyon.  It's a bare bones place, that attracts the serious bodybuilders.  We cycled 30 minutes, and then lifted shoulders......Derick knows his way around the weight room, and my shoulders are already sore as fuck as I write this now.

It was great catching up with him and laughing together like we used to when we lifted almost every day last year.  Not sure why we don't do this more often, but we should.

Of course something would have to fuck it up.  His ex-girlfriend, Lexi Tyler walked into the gym just as we were finishing.  Suddenly a fun situation got really tense and I was thrust into the middle of it.  God, I hate being in the middle of two people's relationship (or lack of one).  Since we were finished anyway, Derick and I said our good bye's and he left to go work on some things.

I said hello to Lexi and tried not to stare at her enormous boobs, but it was a struggle.  Also her personal trainer is my friend Nikki Fuller, if you search through this blog, you will remember we had dinner early this year, I am very attracted to Nikki.  We actually made some tentative plans to grab dinner again, so we will see.

 

So after chatting with them for a bit, then it was back to more cardio.  I hopped onto the treadmill and ran 4.69 miles in 45 minute and it felt great!  While I was running, in walked Denise Masino!  Holy shit!  I have been a fan of hers for a long time, and she is even more gorgeous in person!  She is friends with Gayle Moher, one of my favorite girls in the world (actually Gayle is coming to visit LA next week hopefully!). 

Denise and I chatted for a moment, as I tried to not drool all over myself.  Wow...just wow.  Anyway, I forced her to take a few pics with me, as she protested about her lack of makeup.  Sorry Denise.....there is no fucking way I am not getting a pic with you.  lol

 

After leaving the gym around 630pm, it was perfect timing because Kayden Kross then called me about joining her and her civilian friends for dinner in Burbank!  I quickly changed clothes (no shower.....gross!) and drove over to the Katsuya in the Burbank Marketplace.  Wow, what a cool restaurant.  There is a huge pond in the middle of the loaction, which features a great water show every 30 minutes, kind of like a mini Bellagio in Vegas.

   

Kayden looking very scrumptious this evening, and as an added bonus, she wasn't wearing a bra!  I love my life sometimes.  Natalie and Amber are two of her civilian friends from back home in Sacramento.  We had a fantastic dinner and laughed and told stories and watched Amber spill a watermelon down her shirt.

All three girls couldn't just order food either, they had to change like 15 things about their order.  No wasabi, extra salmon, side of rice.........good lord!

 

It was great hanging out with Kayden again, for whatever reason we just get along very well.  Compatible personalities, likeminded individuals, shameless self-promotion....who knows why she likes me, but I am glad she does.  Oh and here are two last shots of the three girls...and Kayden is giving me a mini-nip slip in both of them!  Good times.

 

We talked about her new website Club Kayden for a little while and how I wanted more choices for banners.......she said she would work on that, but for now......

As the girls dined on their heavily modified sushi and mixed drinks with jalapenos in them, I of course ate my usual fare of miso soup, edamame, and beef teriyaki.  It was good, but not fantastic.

After dinner, we drove over to Kayden's place so the girls could change clothes and go check out Porn Star Karaoke at Sardo's Bar in Burbank.  I must admit, not only was it a lot of fun watching three hot chicks change clothes in front of me, but they actually got ready pretty damn fast for sharing one bathroom between three hot chicks.  And they even skeedaddled for a minute so I could drain the lizard.  Very nice work ladies.....impressive!

Porn Star Karaoke is a place that I used to frequent every Tuesday when I was first starting out in this business.  It's a cool little bar, Seymour the owner/manager is always there and is a funny guy.  He is no fool either, he always hires smoking hot chicks to waitress and bartend their, tonight was no exception, good lord they were hot.  I should have snapped some photos.....my bad.

It was a quiet night this evening, not many industry people were there.  Tee Reel (of course....the streak goes on), Lisa Sparxxx (who I might be working with this week), Heidi Mayne (love this girl), Caroline Pierce (last time I saw her she was a vampire and I was fucking her in front of 30 girls), Natalie Demore who runs Smothered Slave and Bondage Orgams (so hot, so married, and so not ever working with me.....lame), and one of her friends Vivian Pierce, a bondage girl who runs a website called Vivian Bound.  Hot.

     

   

Oh and Tee Reel brought one of this friends along with him tonight.....Tommy Davidson!  Remember him from In Living Color?  He was a really laid back dude, and I snapped a group shot of everyone there just for you readers.

Okay after an hour or so of listening to good and bad karaoke, I was pretty tired and I have a shoot tomorrow (finally) for Fucking Dungeon.  So I said my good-byes to Kayden and the others, and made my way home.

The last thing I am going to talk about tonight is kind of a big deal, at least for me personally.  I don't think it's any secret to anyone who reads this blog or who is in my industry that I have done both gay and transexual porn in my career.  I am not ashamed of it, it doesn't define me, I think it's obvious I love women, but I will not deny that I have done those types of scenes.  Doing those scenes (and being more open about it than any other male performer in this business who has done the same thing on or off camera) has caused me to travel along a very hard and winding road.  I have to put up with homophobia, stereotypes, and most importantly to me, attacks on my character and good name.

I have put up with all of this since I started in this business, and I know that I will be putting up with it for the length of my time in the adult industry.  And that's fine, I am a big boy and I can handle it.  But I just want everyone to realize that I am an anomaly in this industry, and there are a ton of companies, directors, and performers that think I am a diseased, disgusting, plague on our industry, and they basically think I am a living piece of shit.  Obviously this hurts me because I love this industry, I love the people in it, and I love my life.  So this situation causes me a lot of pain and suffering, more so this past year than ever, as people like Penny Flame, Brett Brando, and Puma Swede among others change from my side to the other.

Now let's review the list of players in this mini-drama.  Manuel Ferrara is the top male performer in the industry today.  He is a juggernaut, he owns his own product through Evil Angel, he stars in Vivid movies, and now he directs and performs for Reality Kings.  One of his oldest and best friends in this business is Steve Holmes, who like me has done all manner of scenes in his career and unabashedly so.  Additionally, Jason Sinclair, who is Manuel's production assistant, has also infamously done a scene on the other side of the industry.  Third, and one of the reasons why I like her so much, Manuel's wife once did a ridiculously unbelievably awesome scene with Vanity (a shemale) back in the day.  It was a hot scene, and one of the reasons why I respect both her and Manuel.  Okay, there's your background on Manuel......more on him later.

Phoenix Marie is next.  She is very, very, very close with the entire Reality Kings upper management, including Justin, who works in production, and Mike, who owns/runs the company.  Her friendship with them, along with her marketability as probably the most popular girl in the industry right now, caused Reality Kings to start a website based around her life (which I refuse to link.......ever).  Okay more on her later....let's continue.

Greg Lansky is a director for both New Sensations and Reality Kings.  He has used me a grand total of ONE time in his life, and that was as a replacement for a scene for New Sensations in April.  Since then.......not a single fucking phone call or scene to speak of.  Even after he specifically told me that he would get me into his rotation after I worked for him.

I have spoken on this blog before about Reality Kings policy in regards to me and other male performers who have performed in scenes other than boy girl.  In a nutshell, they refuse to shoot them ever.  This is obviously discriminatory and ridiculous, but it's their company and that's fine. 

Tonight I made a mistake.  Laura at Naughty America had booked me for a scene on Thursday and I forgot to tell the LA Direct office.  So when Chris, the LA Direct agent, called me about a scene for Greg Lansky, I didn't want to cancel Laura for Greg, but I had to, because it was my fuckup not LA Direct's.  And if the scene would have been for New Sensations, I would have done it.  But when Chris told me the scene was for Reality Kings.....I said unequivocally and flatly....no fucking way am I cancelling Naughty America, the company who I have shot over 200 scenes for in 5 years for a company (Reality Kings) that basically thinks I have the fucking plague.  And to make it even better, the scene was one where the girls were going to dominate a big football player and abuse him.  How many male performers are willing to do that role?  Hmmm......not many.

Understand this good readers, Reality Kings is so homophobic and out of touch with this industry that they wouldn't even let Phoenix shoot a scene with me for her own fucking site....and this is WHILE WE WERE DATING.  They won't let Manuel Ferrara shoot me or Steve Holmes, one of his BEST FRIENDS IN THIS BUSINESS.  They won't even let Jason Sinclair be a fucking EXTRA on his OWN COMPANIE'S SET.  The owner of the company, Mike, once told Phoenix that he couldn't believe I even did boy girl scenes for other companies, and asked her "if I wear condoms for all my scenes".  I am speechless.

I don't begrudge Greg Lansky for trying to get his scene shot.  I would work for him for New Sensations if he wanted me.  I know he would only use me if he absolutely had to, and I am fine with that.

I don't begrudge Manuel Ferrara either.  This business doesn't allow you to be a loyal friend in many cases, you have to think about business first.  At the end of the day, it's about feeding your family first and friendships second.  I am glad I never have to make those choices, because I seem to have a propensity for expecting loyalty over business from people, and fear I would make the dumb choice financially.

I would like to say I don't begrudge Phoenix Marie about her site, but that would be a lie.  To say that she likes me and wants to continue to have some sort of a relationship with me, and then has a site where she works with all sorts of dudes (Kris Slater is even on that site......hmmmm) and knows that I will never be on there, really hurts me.  Can anyone honestly say it wouldn't hurt them? 

So in closure to this long winded and soapbox oratory, I told LA Direct to tell Reality Kings to go fuck themselves and that if they wanted to get Greg, Justin, Mike or whoever else on the phone.....I would have no problem telling them that personally.  And you know what, Derek and Chris both agreed with my decision (and I hope respected me for making it).  And I know Laura and Andreas and everyone else at Naughty America knows that I am as loyal to them as I can possibly be, I will never say "NA 4 Life" in one breath and then six months later change my phrase to another company.

Hi, this is my first post here. I just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your blog. I've also been noticing that you've been getting frustrated by the industry, or at least certain parts of it. I'm not a part of the industry in the slightest, so I don't feel qualified to give advice except to say your blog is cool and that the adult film industry probably attracts some pretty narrow minded people. Don't let 'em get you down, you live a charmed life!

I don't agree with this comment. You seem to be doing just that. Being loyal to your friend and not putting the $$$ in front of that friendship.
I may not know about your industry, but I work in a very corporate world and I have made lots of enemies in my career, but I sleep very well at night knowing that I was the bigger person and didn't sell myself or someone else out.
Also in the long run those people have had to come crawling back, because I am very good at what I do. That's the point, as long as you are good at what you do the rest will work it's way out. The key is never gloat. I firmly believe that what comes around goes around. It has happened on more then one occasion to me, and I've found that once they have to come crawling back, be the bigger person on the outside at least. You can do the happy dance in your mind. I'm kind of annoyed reading what you wrote about Reality Kings being homophobic. I'm not gay, but I dislike homophobia and there have been plenty of times where I wished that site was doing some m/m/f scenes; maybe they have? I don't know but thinking about it now I can't really remember a scene like that on their site. Now I know why! Or have a vague idea at least...
